If ever there was proof that the common(-looking) man can still prevail, it can be found in the unlikely marital bonds between NBA journeyman Marko Jaric and Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima, who secretly eloped two weekends ago.

Adriana Lima, a Brazilian supermodel and a Victoria's Secret Angel, eloped with NBA star Marko Jaric on Feb. 14 in Jackson Hole, Wyo., in a small, private civil ceremony, PEOPLE confirms exclusively.

I never would have called a civil ceremony in Wyoming "romantic," but then again, I've never convinced a Brazilian supermodel to marry me, so what do I know?

The wedding isn't a complete surprise -- the two have been linked together for a year and a half and engaged since June -- but it still strikes me as one of the most unlikely celebrity unions in all of sports. Of course, there may be a reason for the sudden nuptials -- as the New York Daily News points out, she hinted in a MySpace blog post that she may be pregnant.
