Sean Williams was arrested today for the second time in a month. In February, he was briefly jailed after violating a "no-trespassing" order by attending a basketball game at Boston College, though charges were dropped when coach Al Skinner intervened to say he invited Williams to the game unaware of the order.Unfortunately, it doesn't look like a former coach can bail him out of today's situation. According to the Star-Ledger, Williams was arrested on "undisclosed charges after being involved in an altercation at a cell phone store" in a shopping mall near Denver. The Nets are in town to play the Nuggets this evening.
From Dave D'Alessandro:
"All I know is that there was an altercation, and he was arrested," Nets president Rod Thorn said. "It's in the hands of authorities."Thorn refused to say whether Williams would be punished until more facts are known, but it's probably safe to assume the incident will cost him at least one game check, especially if he's still in the clink by the time his teammates take the floor.
According to a team official, Williams damaged property before police arrived.
As of 8 p.m., Williams was still incarcerated, and the team didn't hire him an attorney.
"That's up to him," Thorn said brusquely.
