Andrew Bynum Can't (Hula) Hoop

Andrew Bynum will be back soon enough, according to the Lakers. This weekend, he moved forward on an important step in his injury recovery: hula hooping with Playboy bunnies.

For what it's worth, Lakers coach Phil Jackson has no problem with Bynum visiting the Playboy golf tournament:
"I think there's a lot being made out of this that's unnecessary," Jackson said. "This is a 21-year-old guy. He's been out of basketball for 6 weeks. He's got to have some energy and have some fun. Now I don't know if putting a girl on your shoulders is a good idea ... but the fact that people are beating him up over that, that's crazy."
The "putting a girl on your shoulders" quip is a reference to the now infamous photo of Bynum walking into a club with a Bunny riding piggyback. It's hardly news that Bynum likes to party during rehab, but at least his boss has some levity on the matter.
