Every night there are some stupendous, silly, stupid, or downright outlandish individual lines from around the "lig." Doing Lines lets you know which one tops the list.J.R. Smith took 14 field goal attempts for Denver last night. Thirteen of those came from behind the arc. He made eight, for a decent 57% shooting clip. But figure the three-pointer's bonus, and holy cow! that's 24 points on 14 shots. He added four FTs for a total of 28. Nuggets win, and remain in pole position for the No. 2 seed.
Deron Williams had 18/10 for the Jazz, and C.J. Miles had his best night in about six weeks with 19 points. It took Carlos Boozer 23 shots to get 15 points. That's a whole lotta misses.
Shocker: LeBron James put up a great line -- 31/9/6, with six unfortunate turnovers -- but all anyone will (rightfully) want to chat about is that his team lost to the Wizards. Praise be to Caron Butler (25 points on 16 FGAs), Gilbert Arenas (11 points, 10 assists, zero turnovers) and Darius Songaila (17 points on eight FGAs, six rebounds). Well done, Wiz. Keep on winning.
Despite the loss, LeBron received Washington Capitals stars Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom graciously. A white suit and dark shades ... indoors ... at 11 PM. That is style, men.
Cash Time: Sweet Louis Williams shot up the Bucks with 21 points in 31 minutes on 10 FGAs and eight FTAs. He also had four assists and ganked two steals as Philadelphia won to keep apace with Miami for the No. 5 seed. Lou is a real important piece for the Sixers, and they need him hot going forward.
