Blake Griffin has been picking up hardware for the past few weeks (the Naismith, AP and CBS player of the year awards spring immediately to mind) and, considering that he announced his decision Tuesday to enter the NBA Draft, it's safe to say he's going to be getting a pretty substantial pay raise as well.
Griffin called choice a "tough decision," but the reality is grounded closer in what Oklahoma Jeff Capel meant when he called the decision a "no brainer."
The Oklahoma big man is a virtual lock for the No. 1 overall selection in the upcoming draft -- although there are some folks that currently disagree with that theory -- and stands to make millions and millions of dollars, regardless of who ends up winning the lottery.
And it's not like this decision was ever going to be shocking; nearly everyone knew heading into this year that Griffin had always planned to be a "one and done," primarily because there is simply too much money available to him at the pro level to consider coming back to school for another year.

Technically, two and done-it was a little surprising he came back for his sophomore year.
Another example of why the programs at UNC and Duke are the greatest in the nation. Attending a college or university in the USA should be an attempt to gain a degree, not a multi million dollar contract to play professional sports.
Why do you go to college. You go to make money. So if you can make it in 2 years versus all the more power to you.
Another black man bites the dust....
CORRECTION REDNECK, ANOTHER RICH BLACK MAN.
hockeyted, you are naive, my man. The decison to come back and play for your school is all right except the school gets rich and you get an education, if you're lucky. If I could dig ditches for tens of millions of dollars without an education, I would do it in a heartbeat, so playing basketball is pretty much a no-brainer.
HOCKEYTED IS ABOUT AS CRAZY AS THAT NAME, DUMB PEOPLES GOES TO COLLEGE FOR AN EDUCATION, SMART PEOPLES USE THEIR GOD GIVEN SKILLS TO MAKE THE BUCKS, DOING SOMETHING THAT YOU DON,T MIND DOING, AND IN 5 YEARS, YOU,LL SET FOR LIVE.
Yawn
He seems like a bright kid with a set of normal parents. He just might be grounded enough not to screw things up for himself. I'm pretty sure he will be able to afford to finish college if he chooses.
This kid is a good college basketball player but I do think he is over rated I do not think he will do that good in the pros as far as im concerned he should have not gotton player of the year i think tyler hans should have gotten it. Its not like the pros where they choose mvps and all that till they see what teams actually make it all the way but whateva I really think he will be a horrible professional player
