Every night there are some stupendous, silly, stupid, or downright outlandish individual lines from around the "lig." Doing Lines lets you know which one tops the list.Dang, Dwyane Wade. Isn't a little late in the season to be dropping off 55-point games? The (soon-to-be) scoring champion can't hit the three ... except when he drops six of 12 from distance on his way to a marvelous 55-point effort in the waning days of the regular season.
Of course, something was in fact at stake: Miami clinched the No. 5 seed in the East with the victory. That means Atlanta instead of Orlando in the first round. But Wade also made his final plea for MVP consideration with the effort. After a Brett Pollakoff-led assault on LeBron's predestined status, Kobe Bryant has likely supplanted Wade as the No. 2 choice. That won't do, men. That won't do.
Michael Beasley is turning up carnations, with his best pro game. Twenty-eight points, 16 rebounds for the walking bottlerocket.
Parker Watch, Elevated: Tim Duncan sat out the front end of a Spurs back-to-back. Tony Parker handled it, with 25 points, nine assists and five rebounds. To say he obliterated old buddy Beno Udrih would be unfair to other objects of obliteration. Not for lack of effort, Beno got incinerated. Speed kills.
Blockgnani: Six blocks for Andrea Bargnani in the crushing triumph over the streaking (bad) 76ers. Seventeen points and (well, um) two rebounds, too.

Lol, wtf would Brett know. Hes such a crappy homer driven blogger, he had to change his last name to attempt and distance himself from being put on blast virtually nonstop for his internet droolfest over the glorified Allen Iverson himself, Kobe Bryant. Now THERES a comparison if i ever saw one. Only reason Kobe has a ring is Shaq, and he wont win this year either, but hey, keep chucking up 35 shots a game, i guess that does make you look good, no matter how one dimensional you truly are.
D-Wade for MVP '09. E.O.S.

Kobe is the best player in the game, but LeBron is this year's MVP. Cleveland wouldn't even sniff the playoffs, let alone win 60 games without LeBron. Wade is right there, with less talent than the Wizards no less, but 60 wins gets the nod..

I can live with that..all these debates aside, not ONE of these players other than Wade is only a year removed from such a dire scenario, the last time the Cavs, Lakers, or the Hornets took someone with the second pick overall by earning it through a pathetic record was when these particular players were drafted. Not Wade. Remember, hes playing with a green staff, not very talented or quality players. Lebrons got quality, established depth. Kobe has a couple of all star caliber players on his roster, as does Paul.
So when i read the token "well if so and so werent on that team, theyd yadda." debate, Wades proven it, when he was hurt most of the season before, the Heat straight flopped. Its not like theyre clinging to the 8 seed either, they earned the 5, not bad when you consider the Bulls underachieved and the Pistons are a trainwreck despite having gobs of talent.
As for Kobe being the best at anything? Perhaps the best at being hyped outrageously. The guys career numbers outside of shooting the ball a zillion times a game are pretty bland, even Iverson had a decent number on at least one other category besides shooting 38 times a game. People would think Kobes got like 12 rings by now, but he has a mere three, and he "earned" them by being paired with Shaq. Wade did the same, only he admitted as much, where Kobe cant come to grips.
He wont win it this year, either. His window in the scripted NBA scenario is closing fast, and making way for Lebron and co.
If Wade does lose the chance for an MVP, it should be to Lebron, and absolutely noone else.

dropping 55 on Knicks is no big deal since LeBron and Kobe both dropped big numbers on the Knicks in the Garden. Wade is certainly deserving of notice, maybe even a second spot to Lebronze but Lebron has been a beast this year, and beling a Laker fan, I can't wait to see a series between Lakers and Cavs as finals. Hope it happens...

jesus, what does CP3 have to do to get a write-up like this?
The guy just had the most ridiculous line from yesterday and everyone is still fawning over Dwade and him not getting the MVP.

Just thought I'd mention Chris Paul's line yesterday:
31 pts (11-15 FG), 17 ast., 9 reb., 2 steals, 1 TO (on an offensive foul)
I know everyone's grown pretty accustomed to CP putting up huge numbers all of the time (and to be fair, the Fanhouse has talked about that fact more than a few times,) but it's kind of crazy how good he's been lately. Here's two MVP candidates stats for the month of April:
Player A: 33.5 PPG, 7.2 APG, 5.2 RPG, .511 FG%
Player B: 31.4 PPG, 12 APG, 6.4 RPG, .552 FG%
Player A is the much talked about Dwyane Wade, who's late surge has put him right in the thick of the MVP race. And Player B? That's Chris Paul, who's trying to keep his team afloat with Tyson Chandler out, Peja just working his way back into the rotation, and David West on a gimpy ankle. Now granted, the Hornets are only 3-4 over that span, but the Heat are just 3-3. Maybe I'm nitpicking here, but Chris Paul has barely been mentioned at all this year for MVP, even though the Hornets will only be about 6 games off last years pace, and they've dealt with a ton of injuries to key players. So consider this my MVP ballot for CP3.
