Kenyon Martin Should Be Suspended

At least now we don't have to bother with a poll to determine who is the dumbest player in the NBA. Kenyon Martin wins this one without debate.

Mark Cuban was wrong for the way he behaved after the Dallas/Denver Game 3 when he ran around the court looking like a fan who needed to be put into handcuffs. He was wrong for telling Martin's mother that her son was a thug.

But sometimes the truth hurts. Martin sure played the role after Game 4. Instead of worrying about all the things he did wrong in the loss to Dallas, he goes off the court with his eye and his mouth on Cuban.

And knowing that cameras were following his every move, he motions at Cuban and calls him a , f****t motherf***er, all but challenging the Mavericks owner to come toward him. How bright was that?

That battle would have been as competitive as the Cavs/Hawks series.

At least Cuban was smart enough to not have his exchange with Martin's mother taped and broadcast around the world. And he was smart enough to stay across the court from Martin.

If Martin really is that upset with Cuban, he should have sent him a text like everyone else, challenging him to meet him out back where they could settle their differences with pistols at 20 paces.

I'm sure that Denver owner Stanley Kroenke, paying Martin $14 million this season, is proud today of his employee and his language. If Kroenke doesn't suspend Martin, then commissioner David Stern should step into the fray and do it for him.

Talk about embarrassing an entire league. There are so many bright and responsible players throughout the league, but one bad apple like Martin gives everyone a bad name. And that's too bad.

If the league thinks that head slaps and high elbows are worthy of suspensions because they tarnish the league, then how about behavior like Martin's, which was beyond inexcusable.

i was discussing the original martin/cuban incident at work. after telling them what he says he said and what kenyon's mom said he said it was generally agreed that cuban was way out of line.

but then we all agreed that kenyon martin is a dirty player and someone needs to say something, even if it's to his mom.

so cuban's a classless fellow, but kenyon martin is... well... something less than that.

He didn't insult his mother. He insulted Kenyon to Kenyon's mother. Chances are down in her heart that Martin's mother is fully aware. But judging by her child I'm going to guess she wasn't much of a mother.

Even if Kenyon is a so-called thug, U do not disrespect the Man's Mother (around Mother's day @ that) i totally agree with Martin, if anything Cuban should be fined and Banned from the stands, now what if Martin's Mom had reacted in a negative way toward Cuban, then she would be a thug too?

2 wrongs dont make a right. They both were wrong, and the league should fine both of them. Cuban should have kept his comments to himself instead of insulting the woman who raised this so called thug. And martin showing his true thugness by insulting Cuban after game 4 should have proven Cuban wrong by doing nothing. Both in my eyes have no class.

Sounds to like to me Tim you have had a "special" thing for Kenyon the guy plays his heart and granted he is dirty at times but not like any other nba player isn't. I applaud him for holding it until the end of the game I would of went right up to cuban during the game so all cameras could see!! What kind of fellar talks about your family??? Telling someone that their son is a thug IS an insult. If Kenyon Martin gets suspended for that then Kevin Garnett should get suspended every time he is on camera. How many times have you seen an NBA Player mouth the words "motherf***er". Either make it a rule for everyone, or let it go. You can't suspend Martin just because you can hear the audio.

Mark Cuban should've known better than to mess with Martin. I think Kenyon "just calls em as he sees em", too. Get a grip on yourselves.

He was probably flipping off the people who spilled beer on his mom in game 4. Or maybe the people who were cussing at and insulting his girlfriend and Carmelo's wife to the point that Carmelo's wife had to leave the arena. They actually had to put extra security on his mother-HIS MOTHER-to keep people from harassing her.

Cuban didn't even have the cojones to say it to his face he said it to his Mother??? now, had KMart trash talked to someone on the court who had made a dirty cowardly move, he would have gotten maybe a technical foul but really people??? Cuban initiated the whole thing OFF the COURT... I have NO love for KMART being a Lakers fan and I've always thought him to be a tough and often dirty player...but to rip him to his mom deserves whatever verbal response KMart wants to give Cuban...and Cuban, just like most rich geeks, thinks he can get away with anything no matter how lacking in balls it may be. If anything, If players can get away with a "hard foul" ON the court, K Mart should be able to get away with some "hard foul language" OFF the court...

I think Cuban should be suspended from going to Denver tomorrrow. He has a big mouth and needs to stay in a box seat instead of on the sidelines. I loved it yesterday when he was giving high fives to the rich ppl in the front row seats. The unfortunate part about this whole thing is that he did not have the guts to call Kenyon out himself, instead he goes to his mom...how weak is that. Well, tomorrow Kenny the Jet is going to have Cuban and the gang pack their poles to go fishing. Gotta love it...Turn out the lights Cuban, you are through. I am so glad that I will not have to see you in the next round!
