Dirk Nowitzki's Ex Claims She's Pregnant

There was little chance that the Dirk Nowitzki - Cristal Taylor saga was going to disappear quietly, even with the Mavericks eliminated from the playoffs. That small chance vanished, too, when Taylor held an interview with the Dallas Morning News from jail Monday and Tuesday.

Michael Rayfield Hodges: Police said that Hodges, a former football player for the Tri-Cities Fever of arenafootball2, bit off the fingertip of an officer during a jail scuffle in November.

Taylor dropped multiple bombshells around her relationship with the Dallas superstar, confirming FanHouse's report that she's pregnant, while adding that they had a wedding date planned and that Dirk referred to her as his "little jailbird."

"I've known Dirk for seven years – and, no, I didn't tell him everything about my past because I was afraid," Taylor said during a series of phone calls in which she sobbed frequently. "But, I mean, now I'm pregnant and alone and broke because he is my only source of income."

[...]"I'm actually hoping that Dirk will step forward and help, once he reads the article," she said, adding that Nowitzki has not contacted her, directly or indirectly, since her arrest. Nor was he present for her two court appearances in Beaumont.

As the DMN pointed out, there's no way to know -- at least right now anyway -- if Taylor actually is pregnant with Nowitzki's child; privacy laws prevent her medical records from being released.

Additionally, Dirk and the Mavericks are currently refraining from issuing any sort of response to Taylor's allegations, including whether or not Holger Geschwindner, Dirk's coach, was the one who influenced the Mavericks star to research Taylor's background and request a prenuptial, or whether Nowitzki voluntarily made that decision.

It's a story that has taken several bizarre turns and one that certainly hasn't come to any sort of completion; what it does echo, though, is the sentiments that Scott Boras hinted at during a recent Playboy interview, where he discussed cautioning his players about the women they kept company with. That's not to condemn Taylor, it's simply a note of caution for anyone with money or fame to consider their potential vulnerabilities.

This is really not the time to judge her. I don't know her, but it seems suspicious that she's arrested while the Mavs are on a flight. That way Dirk is not reachable. Was it a set up?
By whom? And who had her investigated? The team? Dirk? There are a lot of questions . The team was not happy with her influence over dirk. She was willing to sign a prenuptial. She was put in a position of not being able to make a living and being dependant on Dirk and now he's abandoned her. Whatever is in her past it seems he's not playing fair. IS it because he was told by his boss" either/"? Did he know what was being done? He met her in a strip club. Maybe he might have had a clue then. As for her race, Germans are not as race particular as Americans.

Maybe Mark Cuban needs to hire Dan Issell, George McGinnis (the original LeBron James), Bobby Jones, Bobby Wilkerson, and David Thompson to coach his team. Someone needs to teach the Polish Prince of German basketball, Dirk, who to feel/read defenses, when and where the double team is coming from, and publicity stunts. Someone needs to teach him the standing hook shot, running hook shot, jump hook shot, half hook shot, with either hand from either side of the lane. Some needs to teach him curl patterns and pick and rolls. He is mainly a jump shooter. And he needs help from a co post, who can rebound and defend like Dampier, but can consistently get into the flow of the offense. They have enough point guards, in Kidd, Terry, and Barea, they need a starting wing guard, who can defend at least as well as Antoine Wright, but can shoot the ball in the flow of the offense. As for this article, it is not sports news, it is entertainment gossip. The woman is a stripper, apparently seeking publicity and money, and has apparently not taken a blood test seeking to determine paternity. If she should be a story at all, it should be an entertainment story, now a sports story. But folks wouldn`t care at all if she wasn`t name dropping Dirk. As for her race. That is irrelevant. She was photographed with several different exposures, perhaps on purpose, to increase folks wondering who and what she is. She appears to be white. It doesn`t matter. As for Germans, no, generally they are not as particular about race as Americans. Generally they are even MORE particular about race, even comparing other northern Euro ethnic groups, all white, generally unfavorably. But this is the US, and we aren`t always as much better about that as we should be, either. And no, the reference to hook shots is not an oblique did against the woman. They are a useful array of shots which have largely gone out of fashion.

Whoaaaa folks!!!! She is clearly a mixture of something and African American. Try taking a mug shot and see how good any star or other folks would look. She is a beautiful woman. Sadly, it is very hard to live down ones ugly past and get on to a beautiful future. Sometimes the most unappealing outward beauty, can possess inside the looks of beauty unimagined. That folks is what makes for real love. There is something to be said about the length of time they were together. HMMMMMMMM, something was MMMM good. When people want out and don't know how to get out and just leave, they resort to crazy tactics, understandable. Just let folks go on with their lives with whomever and wherever. Don't kill them to get free. If it is his child, take care of it responsibly and keep on pushin without the babys mama. This news will go away and allow Dirk to continue to grow and be the great player he is. Those who reach the NBA pinnacle are great players they too, fall by the wayside and other greats come along.
