Via SkeetsTweet, PistonsNation has this great Bill Laimbeer retrospective, broadcast on occasion of the dude's midseason retirement in 1993. If nothing else, it should serve as shocking reminder of how much more physical the NBA was just 15 years ago. Players would be earning lifetime bans for this type of action today. (And yes, that is a young Karl Ravech introducing the vid.)

Those were the good old days when you could have a brawl and it was another day at the office for the nba, now the nba players are a bunch of pussies I say that now because the old heads use to say that the nba in the 80's and 90's are a bunch of ------- GO figure!!! LOL!!! It is proven that older generations in all the majors sports were physically rougher than it is today tommorrow and in the near future
You're right, jaystuy, the 80's & 90's were NBA-lite, now it's NBA-ZERO. It's so easy a quarterback can do it.
Yeah, those were the days...when men were allowed to play like men. Hand checking wasn't illegal, you didn't get technical fouls for sneezing near superstars and teams fought hard for victories...I bet the 89 "bad boy" Pistons would have whipped the current champ Lakers in 4 games. Kobe would still be in the hot tub trying to get the soreness out his muscles!
