ORLANDO -- Lakers coach Phil Jackson admitted Tuesday night before the Game 3 that forward Pau Gasol should have been called for goaltending in the final second of regulation Sunday night, which would have given the Orlando Magic a game-winning basket in Game 2.Magic rookie Courtney Lee missed the final layup in regulation, sending the game into overtime, which the Lakers won, giving them a 2-0 series lead. On Lee's shot, coming from an inbounds pass from Hedo Turkoglu with :0.6 remaining, Gasol clearly hit both the net and the rim when trying to block it.
"Yeah, he got his hand caught in the rim in that one, no doubt about it,'' Jackson said. "That's basket interference, according to the rules.''
Magic coach Stan Van Gundy was asked about Jackson's comments but didn't want to get into any kind of debate. Jackson's comments just made the Magic feel worse about losing Game 2.
"Look, I'm not going to get into calls. Calls didn't decide that game,'' Van Gundy said just before Game 3. "I don't think his hand being there or not being there had anything to do with the shot going in, or not going in.''

Are you talking about game 3??? Well shit not calling that, if it happened must of been pay back then missy!!! When the Magic plays at home, the referees favoritize so its only logical that it happens at Magics home too! Point Blank we are came back stronger than game 1, could of won game 2 if it wasnt for all the fouls called ( I GUESS THE LAKERS NEED TO CALL FOULS TO WIN) and we woin game 3!!!!!! and i enjoyed watching KOBE MISS MISS MISS, FREE SHOTS AND ALL!

Howard's was more obvious than Gasol's. Howard's hand went right through the basket and they called a block.

It was bogus when they let the Magic beat the Cavs.

You meeeaaan when the Magic BEAT the Cavs? I'm not sure if it could've been anymore obvious that the Eastern Conference Finals were rigged. Debate it all you want but the sheer number of fouls LeBron and Co. got compared to the Magic Men was just ridiculous. THIS series here is just bad calls as usual, but at the WRONG TIMES. They call these cheapies when the game is on the line, and it just completely ruins it. I'm a Magic fan no doubt, but even I would've questioned the call if they called Gasol for goal tending. Of course I would've been happy, hahaha, but afterward I would chalked it up to another awful official. They need to let the GROWN MEN play basketball and stop calling all these touch fouls, jump ins and FLOPS.

Phil must be trying to play some kind of head games with the refs, but I don't get it either. It's beyond me. Gasol had nothing to do with that shot not going in, in any way. There was no way that shot was going in. The only missed "goal tending" call in that game was earlier when Howard stuck his hand up through the bottom of the rim to "block" Gasol's dunk. What, that one doesn't count? The only actual one? This crap is ridiculous.

IM A MAGIC FAN EVER SINCE NICK ANDERSON LANDED IN ORLANDO BACK IN 1989... THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS, IF PPL WANT TO GET INTO IT IS, BOTH OF THEM GOALT TENDED AND "NEITHER" OF THEM WERE CALLED FOR IT.. SO THE DEBATE SHOULD BE DROPPED. COURTNEY GOT AHEAD OF THE BALL. IF THE TIMING WAS A SECOND SLOWER IN THE JUMP, THE BALL WAS GONNA GO IN..

Eastern Conference Finals were rigged? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Are you serious? The NBA had a mandate to prevent the "chosen one" from going to the Finals. I guess its possible. The NBA must be making too much money and feeling guilty about it. They wanted nothing to do with the financial windfall that would have been created by the ratings boom of a Kobe vs. Lebron showdown. I am sure they have always had this mandate but must have perfected it just recently. Imagine, they could have prevented Bird vs. Magic, Jordan vs. Magic, Jordan vs. Malone and Ewing vs. Hakeem if they figured out this fixing game earlier. I mean who wanted to watch those match-ups. Moron.
