Tyler Hansbrough Brags About His Draft Status, Mocks Bloggers on Radio

Tyler Hansbrough is the quintessential college basketball player. He was completely dominant at Carolina -- despite what often appeared to be a heightened sense of clumsiness and boarish (typo intended for effect!) behavior -- en route to becoming one of the greatest college basketball players of all time.

Now he's headed into the NBA draft, having seen his stock drop relatively far from two years ago, and most people will tell you that Hansbrough will not perform at a level in the NBA that even remotely rivals that of his performance as a Tar Heel. Of course, Tyler won't tell you that. And, obviously, it's the bloggers' fault that he's not being given enough credit before the draft. Doy.
I think I have a chance to go a little higher [than 12th] but we'll see what happens...

[...]Still at the same time I kind of laugh at [people doubting me]. These are probably a bunch of guys who just sit in their basements and probably just write out mock drafts and do this or do that.
I mean ... really? LOL-STIX!

"T-Bone" (he claims that's his nickname in the interview) goes on to state that these pantless losers covered in meatloaf crumbs also probably haven't watched him play for four years at Carolina.

Uh, T -- I don't know about your parents, but mine don't want me anywhere near the top of the stairs, so they stuck a 32" tube near the dehumidifier. And it is dope, son. Although today's digital transition is probably going to cause problems with my rabbit ears. Fortunately, I'm willing to bet that the internet will develop streaming video at some point.

But, the collective blogosphere's wounded pride aside, how about the fact that the Bobcats actually might take Hansbrough at 12? It's not totally implausible -- Chad Ford, after all, has Psycho T going to the Nets at 11 (Insider) -- but I think it's safe to say that most people project Hansbrough as a later first round pick ... were it not for Michael Jordan's inexplicable desire to load his roster full of every former Tar Heel that he can get his hands on.

Personally, I don't think anyone can justify taking him that high; even if a particular team is impressed by his "athleticism" (read: hustle/will) there is zero percent chance that he has the success in the NBA that he did in college; LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, et al, are the only players who would get the sort of referee treatment that T-Bone would need for a repeat of that.
