If I told you that, "Kobe Bryant grew up idolizing MJ," you would undoubtedly nod your head and say, "Yes. I can easily see how Michael Jordan was a big influence on Mamba." But, as it turns out, 24 was also heavily influenced by the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Which seems weird, but, as Holly MacKenzie put it, also makes total sense: Jackson, for all his eccentricities, was a brilliant performer and the best at what he did. So it's not irrational at all to think that his work ethic and dedication to his craft inspired Bryant.

I guess he was influenced by the way Jackson settled his sexual assualt cases out of court and followed in his footsteps. He learned how to avoid judgement by settling out of court. classy.
No offense to any Kobe or Jackson fan's but both of them are unsavory characters.

It's amazing. Shaq, D-Wade, even Michael Jordan can all go through messy divorces where they have been accused of adultery (and Wade has been accused of abandoning his kids), but Kobe picks an unstable person who accuses him of rape and then completely backs off her accusations and this "rape" thing follows around Bryant still to this day. Is he an adulterer? Yup. Rapist. No. And while there is plenty of time for divorce still, he has remained with his one and only wife and works out super early in the morning to spend time with his kids. Leave the guy alone already.

i've long thought of kobe as michael jackson and lebron as prince.
kobe seems to excel in a traditional sense, doing everything everyone does - but better. lebron is doing things that have never really been done before, things that were never before thought within the realm of possibility.
