SEATTLE -- After dropping 35 points in a local all-star game and winning a 3-point contest shooting left-handed in a searing Garfield High School gym, Knicks guard Nate Robinson had no answers regarding his professional whereabouts in a few months.Robinson, a restricted free agent, has yet to agree to a contract next season with New York, leaving him uncertain of his future just two months before training camp begins. Robinson received a two-year offer from the Greek club Olympiakos but remains unsigned.
Coming off a career-best 17.2 points per game in 2008-09 and another dunk contest crown, Robinson would appear to a marketable player.
But he is a man without a team for now.
"I don't even know, I'm just waiting," he said Sunday when asked if he would sign with Olympiakos. "I'm just basically waiting, that's all I can do right now. I am just waiting, just taking my time and being patient."
Robinson said he hasn't talked with Olympiakos swingman Josh Childress, who left the Atlanta Hawks to sign before last season. He is returning for a second season.
When asked his preference, Greece or the NBA, Robinson said: "I just want to play basketball."
With Portland guard Brandon Roy watching from the sideline, Robinson and Jamal Crawford led the Rainier Beach Alumni over the Garfield alums 130-123.

Nothing I can say to console Robinson fans. Teams don`t want to win
in the games or at the gate. Robinson is one of the top three Knicks
players, with scorer, Harrington, and rebounder, Lee, but the team
drafted rooks at both Lee`s and Robinson`s postitions, and seems only
willing to resign them if forced. Waiting a little, looking over what
free agents they can sign, isn`t a bad thing, but the Knicks only have
one aging wing guard who can play, and their site now lists HIM at
forward, not guard, yet they talk up bringing in point not wing
guards, giving up on their leading assist man, Duhon, as well as
Robinson! Not trying to bring in a wing guard, listing only
Crawford, who hasn`t proven he can play, and Mobley, who didn`t play
last season, ill, as wing guards. And there is the usual nonsense, a
guy who can block Ming Yao`s shot can`t play defense, too small. Is
there a scorer in nba history taller than 7 1/2 feet whom I ought to
have heard of? The Lakers didn`t want the third option on their
championship team, Odom, barely made a qualifying offer, 80%, then
continually under cut it, and now Odom has given in, will trade him.
Doesn`t bode well at all for Nate. The economic depression is part of
it, but the malaise goes deeper than that. The billionaires are bored
with quality, they want some so-called male hunk to play Carol
Channing, they want Bruno to bare his assets for him. They want what
the rest of us try to flush away, because they are bored with having what
the rest of us may want but can`t get. Hope Nate being tutored in Greek this
summer. Bet Athens isn`t as cold/bad as New York in winter. Maybe that`s a consolation. If so, it may be the only one available.

Wow are the Knicks management praising the gods or what right now!!!! Could things turned out any better??? Just 5-6 months ago the big big big dilemma in New York was - In order to even be able to lure Lebron to New York the Knicks need to have a few decent pieces in place , and the best young building pieces looked to be Robinson and Lee who both happened to be free agents this summer. But they were both having pretty good seasons with big breakout games here and there so it looked like they would both demand a nice contract at seasons end. If they resigned them they wouldnt have near enough to sign two big time free agents (cause around the league that seems to be the thinking with teams that want Lebron, they not only want to sign him next summer but also another big free agent to compliment him , most popular name is Bosh) but if they let them go the team my look to much like a rebuilding project for Lebron to want to come over. Well I dont think anyone ever would have thought Robinson OR Lee would have HALF the lack of interest this offseason that they have had. Im stunned. I know restircted free agents arent pursued like UFA but there's 15 teams off the top of my head that not only could use Lee but NEED him. The Knicks are now in position to keep at least one for relatively cheap and if their luck keeps up as is they have a chance to sign both and still have room (if they can move Jefferies and maybe Curry's contracts) to go after 2 big time free agents.
I know it was super longshot thinking a year ago but for once in the last half decade or longer the Knicks luck is going for them and not dreadfully against.....

This is exactly why the Knicks will forever be in the basement!! I was a BIG Knicks fan back in the day with Walt, Pearl, DeBush, Bradley and others. Not so much any more. But I would love for the Knicks, or anyone for that matter, try and explain to me how they haven't signed Robinson or Lee YET???
I haven't look them up but if my memory serves me well, I beleive that they both had very good (overall) stats last season?
Either way, what team wouldn't want a player that's not your go-to guy with 17.2 ppg AND a Dunk Champ??
I honestly don't need to look up Lee's stats. I know he can score and dish it off good enough! What I like the most about him, he's a BEAST on the boards!!
Anyway, I hope they sign with a team soon and one that has a chance to win it all.
The Knicks DO NOT deserve these 2 men..
Please bear with me & my writing, this is my 1st BBall post. Thanks

You are all missing the bigger picture which is that unless nate suddenly becomes a different player he will remain being a hugh chucker and defensive liability. Yes absolutely he's blessed to be the athletic freak that he is but its clear the work is not there to become more head strong or less reckless (please anyone disagree with me!!)
On Lee, I agree that he is the work hard blue collar player that this team has been in need of for a long time however that said, he's no 10-12 mil a year player. Please somebody tell me he has a half court offensive game outside of the pick and roll (ie does he have a jumpshot can he play with his back to the basket like a 4 with no handle needs to be able to do, no i though not.) Also once again he is a huge defensive liability except in his case it's apparent that he tries hard and still hasn't improved noticeably.
Lee is a great energy guy off the bench or maybe a starting four on a great team and can contribute greatly there but he is no 1a or even a 1b player who can put a franchise on his back and that they can build around he is a piece to the puzzle.

Both of you recent commentators needn`t have worried how you did, you were fine. On court, I think the most obvious problem for the Knicks was Curry missing the season with injury and personality conflict off court. Lee and Robinson were fine, so were Harrington and Duhon. A shame Mobley wasn`t healthy, too. He`d have paired better healthy even than Hughes with Krypto Nate. If Curry gets healthy, he is still a half court center, not the runner Coach is thought to prefer. The big problem for the Knicks has been to #1 priority has been a medley of publicity stunts, off court soap opera, quick fix legends in too short a time to be able to develop a winning tradition. Lee was a legit all star candidate last year, one of the league`s top rebounders, doesn`t jack up a lot of bad shots. Robinson should have started because Hughes and, out injured, Mobley, weren`t doing as well, but sure, folks wish he was a foot taller, but you can`t play wishes, just have to play the best you`ve got. If James leaves Akron/Cleveland, which he did for summer camp in San Diego, it won`t be for New York, maybe Ca, Tx, Fl, so city fans just need to consider it a bonus if he shocks them and winds up in Manhatten. Bryant may be the last of the Laker dynasties, they may go the way of the Knicks after this, who never quite measure up to the Yankees, nor seemed to feel like trying to. The delay signing them is only a problem because of context, they haven`t sign quality guys for them to play with, the have looked for replacements, guys around the league are finding quality doesn`t matter, teams are capped out, slashing salary, feel fans if they can afford to come will, good team or bad, but many fans can`t afford to come. Gas prices are down, but bank failures continue, due to deregulation allowing con artists to flourish before they soured the economy. If Nate and Lee could trust management, a late signing would be no problem, but they saw Marbury, max salary, told NOT to practice (then they whined when ONE game he could NOT go in because he was out of condition because they wouldn`t even let him ball at his old high school to try to be in game shape). He should never have gotten more than half max salry, but he should have been told, even though they had no plans for him, he MUST practice. With such terrible mismamagement, it is very like the economy, depressed/depressing.
