Delonte West has a whole new set of reasons you should get him his donuts. The Washington Post reports that West was arrested Thursday night after being stopped on his three-wheeled motorcycle. He cut off a police officer and after being stopped, informed the arresting officer he had a gun in his waistband. After backup arrived, police actually found three weapons on his person. A second weapon was strapped to his leg, and another was in a guitar case strapped to his back.
Yes, just like in "Desperado."
All jokes aside, West was arrested on speeding and possession of a handgun charges. He was released on Friday of his own recognizance. No information was given as to the circumstances of why a starting two-guard of an NBA team who has been diagnosed with a mood disorder was driving a three wheeled motorcycle while carrying three guns.
It's too early to make assumptions for West's causation or circumstances, but the excessive nature of the charges (three weapons at once, including one in a guitar case? Really?) combined with the fact he sought clinical help for depression less than a year ago presents a scary set of circumstances surrounding his intent prior to his arrest.
We'll have to wait to see if any further consequences come from the arrest, be it legally, league-related, or team-enacted.

The Cavaliers have too little perimeter shooting up front, James and O`Neal are NOT middle distance on out shooters, and too little size in the backcourt. I hope Wild West sells his handguns, and settles down whereever he is traded to. Could have been nice if the Cavs could have kept him, but then they`d have probably have had to let Williams go. Wild West is too good to be a back up point guard, that`s Gibson`s role.

Sounds like Delonte (what kind of name is that? Someone misspell DelMonte? Didn`t notice he wasn`t a tomato?) passed an unmarked squad car, was arrested for Driving While Black, and then the press seized on it because he had a 3 wheel motor cycle, 3 guns, wears number one-three, and shoots threepointers in the NBA. He wasn`t touching or reaching for the guns, just informed the officer so he couldn`t be accused of hiding them. If he were white, the NRA would give him a rifle, ask him to pose for one of their Guns Don`t Kill People, People Kill People posters, and claim he was their kind of american (I have family in the NRA, I`m not being sarcastic). Sounds like his trade value has been lowered, though, so it would be better to package Williams, plus, for a perimeter shooting power forward, keep Wild West, and help him thru his problems. And I do think he has problems, even though he apparently was arrested on charges which will probably be thrown out. As for the other West, it is being admitted now THAT was a set up, MTV trying to stir racist reaction for publicity, with MTV knowing Beyonce would have an opportunity to try to make amends to Taylor, which is why Kanye wasn`t hauled off stage, and why MTV made excuses for his misbehavior. Like the interracial kiss on camera between Mike Jackson and his then wife Lisa Marie Pressley, which was so spontaneous he asked her permission before they went on stage even though they were married. Folks ought not want guns, especially hand guns, plenty of meat in the stores, don`t have to get a hunting/fishing permit to buy, but he isn`t even alleged to have threatened the officer just to have informed him.

I am certain the "Brady - Let's take away your 2nd Amendment Rights" will promote this story in their push for a national gun registry. What will get lost in all the politicing though is that even if we had medical testing requirements to own a gun, idiots like West would still have had three guns while the "sane" individuals would have their rights infringed on.
