If not for the Balloon Boy's fantastical helium ride through the brisk Colorado skies on Thursday, the news that LeBron James, King of the Free World, had possibly contracted swine flu (!) would have broken the internet. (As it were, the internet was basically broken by Balloon Boy, leaving the Bron Flu as a Hot Trends footnote.)But fear not for LeBron's health. Just as the worry/excitement over Balloon Boy's jaunt ended up wasted as Falcon Heene spent the balloon chase chilling in his garage, the concern over the H1N1 virus tearing through the MVP is unfounded. LeBron does have the flu, but NBA.com's David Aldridge reports that James is not sick with the swine flu. Whew.
Coby Karl and Darnell Jackson also have the seasonal flu, and Aldridge reports three other Cavaliers were tested for H1N1. In case you've been hiding in a box in the attic for the past six months, H1N1 is a specific mutated strain of the flu which experts say could rip through the world this year and cause a pandemic. The seasonal flu itself is deadly. But standard flu vaccines can't stop H1N1, making it all the more scary.
James actually received a flu vaccine earlier this fall, according to Aldridge's story. And of course, like a good American who pays more attention to urban legend than fact, James claims the vaccine gave him the flu. That's a theory about as well-developed as the idea Balloon Boy's family set up the fake escapade for publicity.

Tom Ziller sounds like a complete jackass, saying that it is "urban legend" to claim that the flu vaccine can give you the flu. Of course if Tom Ziller knew anything about vaccines I'm sure he would never get another one. But since he knows nothing about them he makes uninformed remarks like that, and sounds like a fool.

Just the fact that you say that the flu vaccine cannot give you the flu is the same rationale that the CDC and the FDA use. So the public has no recourse when they have a reaction to a vaccine. The "public health officials" say it is unrelated to the vaccine.
The article in the Times is filled with lies. If a doctor injected 25 mcg of lead into a patient he would be put in jail. But somehow injecting 25 mcg of mercury which is even more toxic than lead is fine with the CDC and the FDA.
I must say that if you rely on the information that is being spoon fed to the mainstream media from the pharmaceutical company private scientists and doctors then the information you are getting is biased.
You may not have noticed but there is never any attention given to the people who have proof that vaccines are not only dangerous but also ineffective. And if there is ever a forum for an alternative medicine doctor to give his or her opinion there is always at least one "orthodox medicine "doctor sitting there to give you the "real information" that you need. And yet we've been hearing for weeks from every network about how we all need to be vaccinated without a single word from the people who would reccomend otherwise. What does that tell you about the mainstrem media? That just maybe they too are being lied to and that they make hunreds of millions of dollars from the pharmaceutical ads that we see every day on television so they are not going to expose thier biggest supporters as frauds.
In closing I would just like to let you know that my wife has mercury poisoning and she has been to court to fight against the FDA which she has seen how corrupt they and the CDC really are. The people running these federal agencies are all former pharmaceutical company employees.
While it is true that many people have adverse reactions to vaccines, that in no way precludes their importance nor their efficacy. Before you vilify these scientists and doctors perhaps you should consider all of the other vaccines that have saved millions of people from debilitating and even fatal diseases. Vaccines that prevent (and have virtually eliminated)the smallpox virus or the polio virus. Or perhaps those vaccines that protect the life of an unborn child, such as for the rubella virus. There is no way that you can acquire influenza from the vaccine. The virus used to make the vaccine is inactivated! How may organisms do you know that are pathogenic when their ability to cause infection has been elimated? Being inactive means the virus cannot invade the host cell, it cannot take over the host cell's "machinery", it cannot break out of the cell, killing it, and it cannot invade other cells to continue its invasion.
Those are only a few examples of many vaccines necessary for the continuation of our existence. Exactly what would your "alternative" doctor recommend for treatment if you were riddled with smallpox ulcers...Echinacea? St John's Wart? Fish Oil? Omega-3?
Vaccines are an injection of DEAD viruses, giving your body the opportunity to develop antibodies to the virus without actually being infected. You CANNOT get the flu from dead flu viruses, just like kids don't get measles and mumps and so forth from their vaccines as children. Get your facts straight, people. Good grief.
Those are great facts. Vaccines must be just great because kids don't get what the vaccines are meant to prevent. Instead, all they get is autism from the mercury being injected into thier bloodstream. Also things like asthma and add and adhd along with other neurological disorders. Don't forget about the weakened immune systems because thier natural immunities are not allowed to develop due to the fact that thier little bodies are being subjected to some of the most toxic substances known.
But I'm sure you have heard all of this from the mainstream media that is doing such a great job of investigating the vaccines and the pharmaceutical industry that is being so noble as to grace us with vaccines that not only are putting many billions of dollars of profit in thier pockets but also ruining families lives and putting many peoples lives at risk.
By the way, there are a number of supplements that will help keep your immune system strong and help prevent you from getting a flu but I'm sure you have heard all about that in the mainstrem media that is so diligent in thier reporting.
