Before he was named head coach of the Cavaliers in 2005, Mike Brown twice had the honor of coaching Stephen Jackson: once as an assistant with the Pacers, and before that, as an assistant with the Spurs. Jackson's time in Indiana wasn't exactly that of a model citizen, but he was fine in San Antonio, and even got himself a ring as a contributor to the Spurs' championship in 2003.
Maybe Brown, based on this past experience, sees something in Jackson that at this point, most of the rest of us do not. That has to be the reason that Cleveland is interested in trading for Jackson, and freeing him from the unpleasant situation that he's created for himself in Golden State.
Tom Ziller: "Jackson is certainly rare, but not for the reasons he thinks. He's the rare top dog who is basically completely ineffective. By my count there are at least six Warriors more valuable than Jackson." -- Read More The rumors started over a week ago, with the name of Zydrunas Ilgauskus being floated as someone the Warriors would be interested in getting back in the deal.
There was no truth to that one, as the last thing Cleveland would be looking to do is get smaller. But according to The Plain Dealer, that doesn't mean that the Cavs are done trying to work something out.
You have not heard the last of the Stephen Jackson trade rumors involving the Cavs.No deal is imminent, because the Warriors are in need of a big man, and again, the Cavs aren't going to give one up.
According to sources, the Cavs do have an interest in Jackson and have had some internal discussions about trading for him.
But if somehow Jackson does get traded, and Golden State gets a productive big man in return, it would be fairly ironic. Because the fact that the team supposedly promised Jackson that they'd get a quality big in the offseason -- and didn't -- is what started him down this insubordinate path in the first place.

Warriors want to get a good big man for Steven Jackson? Gonna be pretty hard tto match salaries. Besides good big men are hard to find and who wants to give one up for a high salaried head case. Gonna be real hard to move him.

If the Cavs don`t want to give up their aging 2nd string center, may their rookie 3rd string, Nevill, or maybe their highly paid power forward, whose hair is big, Varajao, or both, might do. Seems like Cleaveland might consider starting Hickson and Moon on the wings if they don`t trade, maybe Hickson and Jackson, if they do trade, which might mean Varajao coming off the bench for more perimeter shooting with or without a trade. And Jawad Williams might play back up wing guard without a trade, back up wing forward with a trade.

I don't think the risk involved with Jax is worth it, as a Cavs fan. I think so long as Delonte is able to pull it together, then things should be ok.
But so long as we're going to have an article of wild speculation, how about at least providing us with some potential trade scenarios beyond "not Z"?

I`d prefer the Cavs keep Nevill, he`s young and big. If the Cavs want to give up small for small, maybe Parker and fourth string center Wright, or Parker and Karl might be among the possiblities. Despite Wild West sitting out the first couple of games, neither Karl nor Parker has exactly implied Moon or Jawad Williams shouldn`t be considered out of position at wing guard.

The Cavs will not trade Z for a small straight up.That's out of the question. The only way this deal works is if the Cavs also give Darnell Jackson and the Warriors send back Ronny Turiaf.Even then,it's not likely.
