The NBA season is a mere two days old, but the dunk I'm about to show you that Carmelo Anthony threw down over Paul Millsap on Wednesday is in fact, the dunk of the year. 'Melo said after the game, "Once I got the steal, I knew it was just me and him,'' Anthony said. "I wasn't going to lay the ball up. I was going to try to dunk it. If he'd have blocked it, he'd have blocked it. It went the opposite way."
But don't take my word for it: after watching the video, you can read what Dwight Howard and Quentin Richardson had to say about it, via updates they made to their respective Twitter pages after seeing the sensational highlight.

Dunk of the year? Please. Carmelo is 6'8" and had a clear path to the basket. The dunk in pre-season by the Laker's Shannon Brown, at 6'2", a twisting, reverse windmill with a 7' defender parked under the rim was many times more difficult.
I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about pre-seaon, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about pre-season. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game last it's my last but we're talking about pre-season man. How silly is that?
Yeah, the dunk got to be the best, it's quite breathtaking.
